Keepers at Home

Keepers at Home is a girls club for Christian homeschooled girls. We meet once a month, on the 3rd Tuesdays of the month from 2:30 till 4:00 pm staring in September through May. Our meetings this year will be held at Tulare Community Church at 1820 North Gem Street. Girls can join from age 6 (1st grade) to age 16.

Each month the girls are introduced and will learn about a new badge from the Keepers at Home handbook. It is then the girl's responsibility to finish that badge before the Keepers at Home year ends. The girls are also required to learn a portion of scripture before they receive the badges they have earned.

This is a Christ-centered curriculum that is used. It is also a very 'hands on' program that teaches practical skills that are sometimes overlooked in our homeschools. It also shows the girls how they can be prepared to be keepers of their own homes some day.

It is a great time for the girls to fellowship with each other and develop friendships with other homeschooled girls. You can find more information about this program at www.keepersofthefaith.com just click on the children's program. You can also contact me if you have any questions at KrisdeJ@aol.com.

Play Group

Due to Maureen's surgeries the first Play Group for the 2009/2010 school year will start on October 6.

Play group is usually the first Tuesday of the month during the school year from 2 till 4 pm. Maureen has opened her home graciously so that anyone who wants to get more connected can come and fellowship together.

Kids from all ages are welcome and it seems to work out each week that they all play well together. It has been a great experience for the kids to get to see more of each other, develop friendships, and get some exercise. When the weather is warm have the kids bring their swimsuits and a towel as they all love to swim.

This is also a great time for those homeschooling families that are new to our area or families that are new to homeschooling to get more connected. It is also a wonderful time for us Mom's to get to know each other at a deeper level.
